寂寞才女藤夫人以彩筆創造了姿容絕世的光華君。一生流連於眾多女子間的他，步入中年開始面臨生命中難以承受的沉痛打擊，新迎娶的三公主竟與柏木私通，摯愛紫夫人也將離他而去……

本劇改編有「日本《紅樓夢》」之稱的文學經典《源氏物語》，原著作者紫式部以優雅文筆創造一個絢麗非凡的文學世界，細膩展現世間有情眾生面臨的痛苦掙扎。

「國家文藝獎得主」唐美雲飾演經典人物光源氏，於愛、恨、嫉妒各種七情六慾間擺盪；「臺灣京劇小天后」黃宇琳飾演靈魂角色藤夫人，與筆下人物光華君展開一場迷離夢幻的生命對話。

The lonely and talented Lady Tîng felt bored, so she wrote the novel The Storyteller and Her Dream to relieve her worries and boredom. With a calm voice, she began by telling the life story of the handsome Kong-Huâ.

The high-ranking Kong-Huâ and his beloved wife, Lady Tsí, were deeply in love and were admired by everyone. Turning middle-aged, Kong-Huâ was still attractive and married the Third Princess. This was a great blow to Lady Tsí. She became depressed and seriously ill and knew that she didn’t have much time left.

Pik-Bo̍k, the son of the internal minister and best friend of Kong-Huâ, has extraordinary talents and is trusted and loved by Kong-Huâ. Pik-Bo̍k has had a crush on the Third Princess for a long time, and with the help of the maid, had an affair with the princess. The princess became pregnant unexpectedly, and Pik-Bo̍k felt guilty and tortured.

Kong Huâ accidentally discovered the relationship between the princess and Pik-Bo̍k. He was shocked and angry. Unable to suppress the jealousy in his heart, he decided to take revenge.

Lady Tîng accidentally discovers that the character, Kong Huâ, created in her novels gradually showed her own consciousness and emotions. This was unbelievable for her, and she wondered how to arrange the ending of these characters.
